This is the art of capturing images using a camera, encompassing various genres such as portrait, landscape, documentary, fine art, and more.

Aperture: The opening in the lens of your camera through which light passes to reach the digital sensor or film.
Shutter Speed: The length of time that the camera's shutter is open and light is allowed to enter.
ISO: The sensitivity of the camera's digital sensor or film to light.
Exposure Triangle: The relationship between aperture, shutter speed, and ISO in creating a properly exposed image.
Composition: The arrangement of visual elements in a photograph to create a sense of balance, harmony, and interest.
Lighting: The use of light to illuminate a subject and create mood and atmosphere in a photograph.
Depth of Field: The range of distance in a photograph that appears to be in focus.
White Balance: The adjustment of the color temperature of your camera to ensure that white objects appear white in your photographs.
Metering Modes: How your camera measures the light in a scene to calculate the proper exposure.
Focal Length: The distance from the center of the lens to the digital sensor or film when the lens is focused at infinity.
RAW vs. JPEG: Two common file types used in digital photography. RAW files are uncompressed and contain more information than JPEG files, but require more processing. JPEG files are compressed, take up less space, and are easier to share.
Lens Choice: Different lenses have different focal lengths and are better suited for different types of photography, such as landscapes, portraits, or sports.
Filters: Accessories that attach to your camera lens and can alter the light entering the camera, such as polarizing filters, neutral density filters, or color filters.
Tripods: Stabilizing devices that hold your camera steady and eliminate camera shake when taking long exposures or shooting in low light.
Post-Processing: The editing and enhancement of photographs after they have been taken, usually in software applications such as Adobe Photoshop or Lightroom.
"Photography is the art, application, and practice of creating images by recording light, either electronically by means of an image sensor or chemically by means of a light-sensitive material such as photographic film."
"It is employed in many fields of science, manufacturing (e.g., photolithography), and business, as well as its more direct uses for art, film and video production, recreational purposes, hobby, and mass communication."
"A lens is used to focus the light reflected or emitted from objects into a real image on the light-sensitive surface inside a camera during a timed exposure."
"With an electronic image sensor, this produces an electrical charge at each pixel, which is electronically processed and stored in a digital image file for subsequent display or processing."
"The result with photographic emulsion is an invisible latent image, which is later chemically 'developed' into a visible image, either negative or positive, depending on the purpose of the photographic material and the method of processing."
"A negative image on film is traditionally used to photographically create a positive image on a paper base, known as a print, either by using an enlarger or by contact printing."
"It is employed in... art, film and video production, recreational purposes, hobby, and mass communication."
