Law Enforcement Agencies: These are government agencies of different levels, responsible for enforcing laws, regulating traffic, and maintaining public order.
Courts and Judiciary: This refers to the system of courts and judges responsible for interpreting and enforcing laws as well as hearing and deciding cases brought before them.
Criminal Laws and Procedures: This refers to the rules and regulations that govern the process of investigating, prosecuting and punishing criminal activities, and offenders.
Criminal Behaviour: This refers to the study of behaviors that violate the law, encompassing a wide range of activities such as violence, theft, fraud, and drug-related offenses.
Correctional Institutions: This refers to the different types of institutions, including prisons, detention centers, and jails, which are established to detain and punish criminals.
Parole and Probation: This refers to the process of releasing criminals back into society, subject to certain conditions and supervision, to help them reintegrate back into their communities.
Victimology: This refers to the study of victims and the effects of crimes on the victims' lives, as well as ways to prevent and address victimization.
Restorative Justice: This refers to the principles and practices that focus on repairing harm caused by criminal acts, rather than solely punishing offenders.
Ethics in Criminal Justice: This refers to the standards and principles that guide the conduct of professionals in the criminal justice system, emphasizing accountability, integrity, and fair treatment.

Common Law System: The common law system is based on the English legal system. It involves the study of precedents, which are the past judgments of cases.
Civil law System: In this type of system, the judges are not bound by previous judgments. Instead, they have to rely on the written code of law in the country.
Sharia Law: This is a legal system derived from Islamic tradition. It is used in Islamic countries, and it emphasizes morality and ethics as well as law.
Customary Law: Customary law is used in some countries, especially those in Africa. It is based on traditional rules and customs passed down from generation to generation.
Hybrid System: Often, countries use different systems depending on the case they are handling. Therefore, a combination of different systems is used, which is called a hybrid system.
