Patriarchy: The social system of male dominance and privilege that underpins many forms of discrimination against women and other marginalized groups.
Gender: The social and cultural constructs that define roles, behaviors, and expectations for individuals based on their sex.
Intersectionality: The recognition that people experience oppression and privilege in complex, interconnected ways based on multiple factors such as race, class, sexuality, and ability.
Ethics: The branch of philosophy that examines moral principles and values, and how we ought to live and act in the world.
Care ethics: A feminist approach to ethics that emphasizes the importance of relationships, interdependence, and empathy in moral decision-making.
Autonomy: The ability of individuals to make their own choices and control their own lives, without external coercion or interference.
Difference feminism: A feminist approach that celebrates the unique contributions and perspectives of women, rather than seeking to assimilate them into male-dominated spaces.
Liberal feminism: A feminist approach that emphasizes individual rights and equality, often within the framework of capitalism and democracy.
Ecofeminism: A feminist approach that examines the interconnected relationships between human society, the environment, and gender oppression.
Intersectional environmentalism: A framework that considers how environmental issues intersect with issues of social justice, including gender, race, and class.
Care ethics: This approach emphasizes the importance of caring for others and creating relationships based on trust and empathy.
Relational ethics: This type of feminist ethics focuses on understanding human relationships and their impact on the choices that people make.
Ecofeminism: Ecofeminists believe that the oppression of women is linked to the exploitation of nature, and that environmental issues are feminist issues.
Intersectional feminism: Intersectional feminists argue that different systems of oppression, such as racism and sexism, intersect and reinforce each other.
