Understanding and respecting different cultures and identities.

Cultural Competence: The ability to understand, appreciate and work effectively with people and cultures that differ from one's own. It involves being aware of cultural differences, recognizing and respecting cultural similarities and adapting one's communication and behavior to accommodate the cultural differences.
Cultural Identity: The sense of identity or belonging that a person feels to a particular cultural group, including shared customs, traditions, beliefs, and values.
Cultural Sensitivity: The ability to be aware of and appreciate cultural differences while avoiding negative stereotyping and biases towards a particular cultural group.
Cultural Respect: The act of acknowledging and appreciating the diversity of cultural differences, valuing them, and promoting equality and fairness for all cultures.
Intercultural Communication: The exchange of information and ideas between people from different cultural backgrounds, including verbal and nonverbal communication, listening skills, and cultural awareness.
Cultural Adaptation: The process of adjusting and accepting different cultural values, behaviors, and norms when interacting with people from a different cultural background.
Cultural Integration: The process of incorporating different cultural values, behaviors, and norms into one's own cultural identity and adapting to a new cultural environment.
Cultural Intelligence: The ability to understand and navigate a multicultural environment, including knowledge of cultural norms and behavior, emotional intelligence, and the willingness to adapt and learn more about different cultures.
Cultural Awareness Training: A program designed to develop cultural awareness and enhance intercultural communication skills to work effectively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Globalization: The process of interconnectedness and interdependence between people, countries, and cultures around the world, facilitated by advances in communication, transportation, and technology.
