The scientific study of human societies and cultures, both past and present.

Archaeology: The study of past human activity through material remains, which can include artifacts, buildings, and landscapes.
Paleolithic and Neolithic Periods: The Paleolithic Period (Old Stone Age) extends from the earliest stone tool use by hominins around 3.3 million years ago to the end of the last Ice Age (about 11,700 years ago). In contrast, the Neolithic Period (New Stone Age) marks the transition from hunting and gathering to agriculture and the domestication of animals.
Human Evolution: The biological development of humans from their earliest hominid ancestors to the present day.
Cultural Anthropology: The study of human cultures, their beliefs, practices, and behaviors, including kinship systems, marriage and family structures, religious and political systems, and economic practices.
Linguistic Anthropology: The study of the relationships between language and culture, including how language shapes cultural identity and how language is used to communicate cultural beliefs and practices.
Ethnography: The collection and analysis of detailed information about a particular culture or society, often involving fieldwork and participant observation.
Mythology and Oral Traditions: Oral traditions involve the transmission of cultural knowledge and history through spoken stories, legends, and myths. These stories can provide insight into the beliefs, values, and practices of past societies.
Social Organization: The ways in which people within a society are organized, including social hierarchies, gender roles, and systems of power.
Religion and Belief Systems: The role that religious and spiritual beliefs play in shaping cultural identity, behavior, and social norms.
Material Culture: The physical artifacts and objects that are produced by a society, including tools, weapons, clothing, and art. These objects can provide insight into the daily lives and practices of past societies.
