This subfield focuses on issues related to the environment and sustainability, including climate change, energy policy, and natural resource management.

Climate Change: The long-term changes in the earth's climate, including warming temperatures and rising sea levels, as a result of human activities such as burning fossil fuels and deforestation.
Renewable Energy: Energy sources that are replenished naturally, such as solar, wind, and hydropower, and provide a viable alternative to non-renewable sources of energy.
Biodiversity: The variety of plant and animal life in a particular ecosystem, and the importance of preserving this diversity for the health of the planet.
Water Pollution: Contamination of bodies of water, such as rivers, lakes, and oceans, by human activities such as dumping waste and chemicals.
Industrial Pollution: Pollution caused by industrial activities, including emissions from factories, power plants, and transportation.
Environmental Policy: The laws, regulations, and guidelines governing the relationship between human activities and the environment, and the promotion of sustainable practices.
Sustainable Development: Economic development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs, and the role of environmental politics in achieving this goal.
Environmental Justice: The fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people, regardless of race, socioeconomic status, or other factors, in the development, implementation, and enforcement of environmental policies.
Conservation: Preserving and protecting natural resources and habitats, such as forests, wetlands, and wildlife, for the benefit of present and future generations.
Environmental Activism: Social and political movements aimed at raising awareness and promoting action on environmental issues, often through protests, campaigns, or lobbying efforts.
