This procedure is used to examine the bile ducts and pancreatic ducts. It involves inserting an endoscope through the mouth and into the duodenum, and then injecting contrast dye to visualize the ducts on X-rays. ERCP is often recommended to investigate the causes of jaundice, pancreatitis, and other digestive disorders.
