The 1297 Magna Carta

This is the final version of the Magna Carta, issued by King Edward I in response to a petition by Parliament. It contained largely the same provisions as the 1225 Magna Carta, but it differed in that it was a statute rather than a royal charter, which meant that it had the force of law and could be used in court cases.
