The social, cultural, and psychological traits and expectations associated with sex.

Gender identity: The internal sense of being male, female, or something else.
Gender expression: The external display of gender, such as dress, behavior, and speech.
Patriarchy: A social system in which men hold primary power and dominate in roles of political leadership, moral authority, social privilege, and control of property.
Sexism: Prejudice, stereotyping, or discrimination based on sex or gender.
Intersectionality: The interconnectedness of various identities (such as race, gender, sexual orientation, and ability) and the ways in which they interact with one another to shape experiences of privilege and oppression.
Transgender: A person whose gender identity differs from the sex they were assigned at birth.
Cisgender: A person whose gender identity matches the sex they were assigned at birth.
Binary gender: The belief that there are only two genders, male and female.
Non-binary gender: A gender identity that falls outside of the traditional male/female binary.
Gender roles: The expectations and norms society imposes on individuals based on their perceived gender.
Masculinity: The characteristics traditionally associated with men, such as strength, aggression, and assertiveness.
Femininity: The characteristics traditionally associated with women, such as nurturing, empathy, and sensitivity.
Gender inequality: Unequal treatment or opportunities based on gender, often resulting in men having a higher social, economic or political standing than women.
Gender expression and sexual orientation: The ways in which gender identity and sexual orientation intersect and influence one another.
Feminism: A social and political movement advocating for the equality of the sexes and the dismantling of patriarchal systems.
Gender-based violence: Physical, sexual or emotional harm inflicted on individuals based on their perceived gender.
Gender equity: The fair distribution of resources, opportunities and power between men and women.
Gender gap: The differences in treatment, access to opportunities and pay between men and women.
Gender stereotypes: Preconceived notions or beliefs about what behaviors or characteristics are appropriate for men and women.
LGBTQ+ rights: The legal and social protections for individuals who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer.
