Abstinence-Only Sex Education: This type of sex education emphasizes abstinence from sexual activity until marriage. Critics argue that abstinence-only sex education is unrealistic, stigmatizes sexuality, and may not adequately prepare young people for healthy sexual relationships.
Evidence-Based Sex Education: This type of sex education is rooted in evidence-based research and includes information on contraceptive methods, STI prevention and treatment, healthy relationships, consent, and gender and sexual identity. It is often delivered in schools by trained educators or healthcare professionals and may involve individual or group sessions.
