The arrangement of visual elements within a design. This topic covers the use of balance, symmetry, and asymmetry to create a visually pleasing layout.

Elements of design: These are basic visual elements within a composition, such as shape, line, tone, color, texture, form, and space.
Principles of design: These are design concepts that guide how the elements are organized and arranged within a composition, such as balance, contrast, proportion, rhythm, unity, and emphasis.
Typography: This is the art of arranging typefaces, fonts, and text within a composition to convey meaning and enhance visual impact.
Color theory: This is the study of how colors interact with each other, and how they can be used to create different moods, emotions, and reactions in visual communication.
Layout design: This is the process of determining how elements are arranged on a page, including the placement of text, images, and other visual components.
Image composition: This is the process of arranging and manipulating visual elements within an image to create an appealing and effective composition.
Visual language: This refers to the use of visual elements and symbols to convey meaning and communicate ideas in visual communication.
Visual storytelling: This is the art of using visual elements to create a compelling narrative or story, often through the use of images or sequential art.
Branding and identity design: This involves creating visual designs and elements that represent a brand or company, and help to establish its identity and personality.
User experience design: This is the process of creating visual designs and elements that enhance the usability, accessibility, and overall experience of a product or service.
Symmetrical Composition: This type of composition is achieved by dividing a frame into two or more identical parts that mirror each other, resulting in a visually balanced image.
Asymmetrical Composition: This type of composition uses various visual elements to achieve balance without symmetry. The composition feels natural and dynamic, it may have a visual weight shift that complements the visual story.
Rule of Thirds: A composition that partitions an image into three parts, both vertically and horizontally, creating a grid pattern. The main emphasis is placed at one of the intersection points of those lines.
Golden Ratio: The Golden Ratio composition follows a ratio of 1:1.618, creating a harmonious and aesthetically pleasing visual balance.
Leading Lines: Creating distinctive pathways or lines visually directing us from one subject to another; this type of composition is achieved by placing lines in a way that naturally guides the eye in the desired direction.
Framing: This composition creates a border around the subject that directs the viewer's eye to the center of their attention.
Isolation: Using contrast or "empty space" around the subject to make it visually dominate its surroundings.
Figure-Ground: This type of composition uses a subject and background to make the subject stand out to the viewer, using tonal changes or contrasting color.
View-Point: Sharing a vantage point, an angle, or distance from the subject, affecting the overall perspective and mood/feeling of the image.
Depth of Field: This composition is achieved by controlling the lens's aperture, placing the subject in focus and the background out of focus, creating the intended emotional response.
Texture: The use of natural or artificial texture to create a physical or visual impact on the viewer.
