The use of symbols to represent ideas or qualities.

Mythology: The study of traditional stories or legends used by a culture to explain the beliefs, customs, or mysterious aspects of the natural world around them.
Ritual practices: The study of the formalized actions carried out by members of a religious community that serve to reinforce shared beliefs and values.
Sacred objects: The study of the material objects or artifacts associated with religious practices that are imbued with symbolic meaning.
